Montparnasse Station

Giorgio de Chirico (1888-1978)

De Chirico grew up with railroads and kept that fascination in his paintings. This station impresses with its estranged loneliness. A clock dominates in the center and we go bananas looking for further meaning. Color is there, emotions, but the reality doesn't get any better. With railroadtime and its central dominance in modern society we indeed are the bananas ourselves, lying lonely and estranged in a corner seeking for the meaning we should be ourselves (natural and tasty).
